5 Home Remedies To Soothe Your Dog’s Itchy Skin

Is your dog suffering from itchy skin? If yes, you must take care of it immediately. The constant itching and scratching can lead to skin infections, hair loss, and trauma. And as loving pet parents, we can’t see our furry friends suffer.

Here are some natural home remedies that can help treat your dog’s itchy skin:

  • Vitamin E - Vitamin E works on your dog’s dry or itchy skin similarly as it works on your wrinkles. Rub the oil directly on the affected areas. Moreover, the oil massage will make your dog feel relaxed.

  • Yogurt – Add yogurt to your dog’s diet. Probiotics in yogurt can help fight unwanted bacteria and can improve your dog’s immunity. So add yogurt to your dog’s diet to keep yeast infection at bay.

  • Epsom salt – Epsom salt soaks and heat packs can reduce the swelling of itchy paws and inflamed sores. A bath of warm water and Epsom salt also speeds up the healing time for any small, open sores, particularly when combined with veterinary antibiotics.

  • Aloe Vera – You can apply aloe vera directly to your dog's affected spots, but be sure to choose a gel that doesn't contain alcohol—otherwise, you risk burning your dog's skin and worsening his symptoms. Most grocery and drugstores sell 100 percent natural aloe vera, or you can harvest it from an aloe vera plant if you have one at home.

  • Chamomile and Green Tea Soaks – Chamomile and green teas are well-known for their soothing and anti-inflammatory effects. You can use chamomile and green tea soaks to treat your dog dealing with hot and itchy patches of skin. Just give your dog a soothing soak in a chamomile or green tea bath.
